Cabinet/Board

 

 

The function of the cabinet is to manage and control the policies of the Temple. Members consist of present and past presidents of the Adult Buddhist Association (ABA), of the Women’s Association (Fujin-Kai), and of the Young Adult Buddhist Association (YABA). Other members include the Temple Secretary, President of Koyasan Harbor Church and the chair of Koyasan Scout Troop 379 Inc.  

 

Shinto Sodai’s are members who have served in the office of President and appointed by the head minister of Koyasan at Mount Koya. The Sodai’s may act on behalf of the current President in emergencies.

 

Fuku Sodai’s are members of the Temple who have made outstanding contributions and supported the Temple wholeheartedly for many years. The position is recommended by the head minister and cabinet; and approved at the General Meeting. The Sodai’s have the same privileges as a member of cabinet.

 

 

Membership

 

Membership is divided into two categories:

§      Members:      those who support the Temple and its mission; make contributions; and pay annual membership dues.

§      Affiliates:       those who support the Temple and its mission; and make contributions.

 

Members attend the General Meetings and are granted voting rights.  Officers and those serving on the cabinet/board must be members of the Temple. Membership due is $75.00 per member/family and the application is available at the Temple office.  Members receive the Temple quarterly newsletter, JIHO. Class fees are discounted for members.

 

Service fees are reduced for members and affiliates.
